Spirals in Motion: Introducing Palm Portals

There’s something timeless about a spiral. From the unfurling of a fern to the swirl of galaxies, spirals show up everywhere in nature as symbols of growth, flow, and infinite movement. They’re not just pretty shapes—they carry deep spiritual resonance.

In sacred traditions across the world, the spiral has represented life’s journey, cycles of expansion and return, and the constant dance between inner and outer worlds. It’s a path that doesn’t lead in a straight line, but instead circles inward and outward, inviting us to receive, release, and return again.

That’s exactly the energy I wanted to capture when I created Palm Portals—wearable gateways forged from reclaimed raw copper. These are not just adornments, they’re directional tools. Each spiral is hand-forged from the inside out, so the flow is intentional, rooted at the centre, and radiating with purpose. Anchored around the middle finger, they adorn the hands front and back, and do not fall off during use! 

How They Work

• Left Hand (Receive): The palm spiral draws energy inward, while the back spiral gathers it toward you. Think charging, grounding, and welcoming blessings.

• Right Hand (Project): The palm spiral releases what no longer serves, while the back spiral sends your intentions outward into the world.

Worn together, they create a living energy circuit—your left hand pulls in, your right hand projects, and your body becomes the bridge for flow.

Why Spirals Matter Here

The direction of the spiral isn’t just a design choice—it’s the key. Clockwise and counterclockwise flows align with the intention: to draw in, release, send, or gather. By placing these spirals on the most energy-rich spots of the hands (yes, the Lao Gong point in the palm), the Portals become tools you actually use in practice—whether for meditation, ritual, or simply living with more presence.

Raw, Real, and Ready

Each Palm Portal is crafted from reclaimed 12-gauge copper—left raw, unsealed, and unpatinated. That means there’s nothing between you and the earth metal’s natural conductivity. They’ll shift with wear, conform to your hands, deepen in colour, and occasionally leave a harmless tint on your skin (I call that “proof of magic at work”). I am able to wear mine while using the tools of my trade with full range of motion and absolutely no discomfort! You can even tuck a small crystal under the palm spiral for added "oomph!".
