Some talismans have a front and a back. Blue Meridian has two equally persuasive points of view.
At its centre is a long, polished blue kyanite blade marked with natural silvery-blue striations. I built the patinated copper framework around both faces, giving each side its own arrangement of woven borders, spirals and architectural lines.
Small aquamarine beads appear like drops of pale water within the darker wirework, while the tiniest faceted fluorite waits quietly among them—easy to overlook until it catches the light. Because both faces are completely finished, there is no official front. Wear whichever side speaks to you that day.
Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with alignment, truth and clear communication. Aquamarine adds symbolism of calm courage and honest expression, while fluorite brings focus and discernment. Together, they feel like a compass for finding the clearest path between what you know and what you are ready to say.
Its long, streamlined shape and substantial copper framework give Blue Meridian an unmistakably unisex character.
The pendant measures approximately 3 inches long by .75 inches wide (7.6 × 1.9 cm) and comes with a matching 20" faceted copper ball chain.
One stone. Two faces. No wrong way forward.

Aquamarine carries symbolism of calm courage, thoughtful expression and moving forward without unnecessary turbulence.
Fluorite is associated with focus, discernment and bringing order to scattered ideas—even when the stone itself is barely bigger than a determined speck.

There is deliberately no designated front. Both faces are completely finished and may be worn outward, allowing the pendant to change with your mood, clothing or intention.
The natural lines and subtle colour variations within the kyanite belong to the stone. Although polished, kyanite still appreciates gentle handling, so protect it from hard knocks and drops.
I protected the patinated copper with Renaissance Wax, a microcrystalline wax developed for museum conservation in London. I choose it because it provides the least obtrusive protection while allowing copper to remain copper. The wax will gradually wear away, and the metal will continue developing its own living finish.
